Our test centres and customer services are now opened

Following local health authority and government guidance, we have taken the necessary steps to reopen our test centres and we are glad to announce the resumption of IELTS testing across KSA.

Now all health precautions measures are in place to protect both staff and candidates. 

These include:

  • Self-declaration form: All test takers must sign a declaration form at the entrance of the exams area on test day to declare that they are eligible to attend the test session
  • Test takers may not attend the test if: they are under a quarantine, self-quarantine, stay-at-home or medical surveillance order, as specified by the Saudi Government OR if they have a high temperature, persistent cough, difficulty breathing or other flu-like symptoms
  • Under 18s are recommended to be accompanied by an adult
  • Temperature screening will be in place at all test venues
  • Social distancing measures must be adhered to – with staff and test takers always two meters apart
  • All staff and test takers will be required to use face masks and gloves 
  • New hygiene protocols in place with sanitation stations in every test centre 

The health and safety of test takers and test staff is our number one priority. Given the unprecedented nature of pandemic, the British Council will continue to follow all directives made by the Saudi Arabia Government. Our precautions will be kept under review and we will remain vigilant to the developing situation.

COVID-19 FAQs

What happen if my rescheduled exam is postpone again?

In a case where rescheduled exam is postponed to another date, you shall receive an email confirming the same. The test details will be shared at least 4 days prior to the test date.

I filled out the refund form(s), but I did not get a response. When will I get my money back?

Please note that refunds can take four to six weeks to process. 

I filled out the transfer form, but how do I select the speaking time of my exam?

In our new Candidate Registration System, you can choose your own Speaking Exam dates. You can identify if you are registered on our new system by the IELTS Reference No. which should start with “A3” or “A4”.

Will the reschedule exams remain at same date/time?

We are trying our best to accommodate candidates as per their preferred exam date; however, we must align our exam dates with government policies prevalent in that city.

Can I pay for my exam online?

Yes, our online registration system and payment systems are in place for candidates to book an IELTS exam with us.

I registered for an exam through British Council partner. How can I get a transfer?

We are making every attempt to contact the candidates to choose the next test date. Incase you haven’t been contacted yet, please write to us at ksainfo@sa.britishcouncil.org along with passport number, date of exam and next preferred date & city.

Has the result timeline changed?

No. However, delivery of TRF may be impacted, depending on courier service availability.
